DeCO2 is structured around six work packages (WP) along the 42-long duration of the project.

WP1 "Project Management and Coordination" (M1-M48, IEECP) ensures streamlined project management and coordination throughout the entire duration of the project.

WP2 "Decarbonisation Pathways Framework" (M1-M48, NOVA) sets a solid framework for decarbonization pathways with stakeholder engagement in focus. This is reflected in allocated resources for active end-user collaboration, particularly during the definition of requirements, use cases, and the execution of demonstration activities.

WP3 "Technological Innovations Integration" (M1-M48, Fraunhofer) focuses on the integration of technological innovations into the project's scope.

WP4 "Demonstration of Decarbonization Pathways" (M1-M48, 3L) is dedicated to demonstrating decarbonization pathways reaching a technology readiness level (TRL) of 6 on the physical demonstration sites and a TRL7 for the project Virtual Demos.

WP5 "Innovation Pathways" (M1-M48, IEECP) develops innovation pathways towards a technology readiness level of eight (TRL 8) aiming at developing the framework for certification-ready materials tested on the regulatory sandboxes of the project.

WP6 "Dissemination, Exploitation and Communication" (M1-M48, PwC) aims to communicate the project outcomes across DeCO2 target groups and maximise the impact of the project exploitable results through innovation management activities leveraging the project's technological, social, and policy innovations.
